Oh! Überaschung! Alle Seiten zurückgerudert, wenigstens für weitere vier Wochen. Und seine Frau hat er letztendlich dann doch ziemlich zurückgepfiffen.
Und dafür die ganze Aufregung. Ich bin schon ganz zitterig gewesen.
Ein Fussballspieler sollte nicht in Personality-Talkshows auftreten. Gestern abend kam es jedoch dazu und damit zum Werder-GAU in der ARD. Ivan Klasnic war gekommen, um über seine dramatische Krankheitsgeschichte und das anhängige Gerichtsverfahren gegen Werder Bremen zu erzählen. Blöd nur, dass Ivan sich zum Lakaien seiner affektierten Frau und seines profilierungssüchtigen Anwalts gemacht hat.
Erste Reihe
Ausnahmsweise ist heute abend Das Erste mein Sender. Weil Ivan Klasnic da ist. Leider haben sich auch angekündigt: Reinhold B. (weil seine Sendung), Edith Hunkeler (weil “Niemals aufgeben”) und Harald Krassnitzer-Kramer mit Aktueller (weil diese Woche noch nicht in BUNTE).
Reality lag

Tonight: Some thoughts on german libraries
I have to admit that the whole german discussion about this so-called/mis-called “Library 2.0″ bores me a bit right now. Dozens of submitted theses in german universities covering the same scope, pointing tentative in a direction that everyone with a halfway healthy portion of understanding already know.
The future will be in the Web, right, okay. Got it.
I’m not worried about the publicly predicted demise of libraries. They move slowly, act dull and apparently want to put themselves into time capsules for re-animation on the day the Google empire will return into sand. Despite the shattering changes they have to go through in the last years, they seem not very keen on getting the ticket for the wild trip into information utopia. Especially the Staatsbibliothek in Berlin and its OPAC stresses the appropriate framework of user2library relationships in a manner that should be socially punished. No future-heading library should be allowed to trust only onto their holdings and hardly care for the people they’re there for, let alone not develop user-friendly services ( Death to the checkout module )
How hard is it to send a book overdue warning email 2 days in advance, guys?
So I think, wanted or not, we’ll spend many more years with these antediluvian libraries. The dilemma is that those who have or easily could get access to the rich resources (bibliographic and any other library-related data), don’t use it. Or can’t use it because they have dubious long-time contracts with ILS vendors, poor budgets and by the majority sluggish staff.
My point here is that I’m getting a bit confused. Many iniatives, standards, open sources and bright ideas fly around the globe, and the all but complete disregard of the federal German library landscape for those tendencies frustrates me a lot and doesn’t really add to my idea of a fullfilled future job situation in this area.

Täuschung in Tempelhof
Auf Seite 9 der “Amtlichen Information zum Volksentscheid” vom Landesabstimmungsleiter Berlin ist folgendes zu lesen:
Wenn Sie nicht wählen gehen, stimmen sie automatisch mit NEIN und somit gegen Tempelhof!
Wir finden, dass das eine arglistige Täuschung ist.
Man schaue sich zunächst eine Wahlbeteiligung an, die idealiter bei 100% liegt. Das hieße, bei 20% JA-Stimmen gäbe es 80% NEIN-Stimmen dagegen (Enthaltungen sollen keine Rolle spielen). Logisch.
Blieben nun die NEIN-Stimmen zuhause, weil sie aufgrund der Äußerungen in der Broschüre davon ausgehen, ein Zuhausebleiben bedeute “automatisch” die Zählung als NEIN, ergäbe sich eine Wahlbeteiligung von schätzungsweise 20%, von denen die Mehrheit JA ankreuzt.
Was fällt auf?
Richtig, riecht nach Beschiss. Und das in einer ordentlichen Bekanntmachung.

The Dandy Warhols zum sechsten (am achten)
Es gab mal eine Zeit, in der ich sämtliche VÖs monatelang im Pre wusste. Man konnte mich mitten am Nachmittag wecken und ich konnte sie monoton herunterbeten. Die neue Dandies-Platte (hurra!) ist mir völlig aus dem Radar gerutscht und so ist es umso erfreulicher, dass nur noch vierzehn Mal schlafen angesagt ist, bis meine Nadel auf “Earth to The Dandy Warhols” aufsetzen darf. Eine Recherche ergab nichts Leakiges, so far. Was gut ist. Because they deserve adhered appointments. They just do.
